Basic Informations

BARSA started its activities in the year 1994 in the district of Satkhira with an aim to develop the socio-economic condition of the area. A few dedicated young energetic youth thought about the miserable life of the poor people specially the women of the local area and turned down in the development work with the guidance of Mr. Md. Shahidul Islam. The drawback of the area is Environmental hazards, Natural and man made disaster, Water logging, Illiteracy, Gender Gap, Good Governance and Human Rights.
The area people are involved in different kinds of prejudices. The women are tortured in different ways and they are dominated all for time. The rich is the mainly dominating class of the local society. That is why BARSA is trying its level best to upliftment of the poor and marginalized people specially the women in the main stream of development.

Vision

Establishing a democratic, just and developed society through sustainable social, economical, cultural and humanitarian developments where women and men enjoy equal rights.

Mission

1. To form a just society establishing of women and men's equality in the main stream of development through local joint efforts with emphasis of women human rights.

2. To ensure economic self-sufficiency and work for the development of underprivileged population through group formation, savings, income generation, micro credit and micro enterprises.

 3. To develop skill human resource through different training for income generation activities including handicraft and especially to support women's economical development.

4. To ensure the social acceptance of the handicapped people by providing different assistance.

5. To ensure the literacy of the local people for their socio-economic, cultural and humanitarian development.

6. To ensure the conservation of bio-diversity and ecological balance by initiating different programs and awareness following the govt. policy.

7. To ensure good health and nutrition of the underprivileged population through awareness raising, primary health care education and material support for using safe water and sanitation.

8. To establish early marriage, polygamy, divorce and dowry free society by initiating different awareness raising programs.

9. To ensure legal aid assistance of the deserted, distressed, divorced and deprived women for establishing a just society.

10. To ensure food security of the local people by imparting modern and scientific agricultural system through different training, motivation and material support.

11. To rehabilitate the underprivileged women especially the women headed family through income generation activities.

12. To ensure low cost housing for the poor, homeless and disaster victims of the local community.

13. To ensure retaining the indigenous cultural tradition through establishing social library and Folk Cultural Group.  

14. To ensure enhancing and retaining the patriotism and values of Independence of the next generation through different awareness program and national day celebration.   

15. To aware and capacitate the local people for disaster preparedness and to ensure the emergency relief and rehabilitation for the vulnerable disaster victims.
