Brief of activities :

‘Literacy program for marginalized community’ is a rich, multi-faceted project. The project has been playing a significant role to develop children’s potential through quality education, character-building lessons and awareness building on their rights and duties, improving women's education and social awareness in Tala Upazila area.

Most of the people in the project areas are extremely poor and socially neglected. The objectives of the project are to improve the quality of life of these disadvantaged people as follows:

• encouraging the children to go to school regularly;
• to increase the literacy rate in dalit & disadvantaged communities;
• to provide assistance in the health protection of students;
• to increase knowledge on women's rights, social rights including human rights amongst adolescent girl students;
• to interaction with the goal of creating social awareness for the prevention of child marriage and increasing public awareness against the child marriage system;
• enhancing awareness on the establishment of human rights and elimination of caste discrimination;

‘Empowering dalit and marginalized communities through integrated program’ is a rich, multi-faceted project. The project has been playing a significant role to develop children’s potential through quality education, character-building lessons and awareness building on their rights and duties, improving women's education and social awareness in Shyamnagar Upazila area.

Most of the people in the project areas are extremely poor and socially neglected. The objectives of the project are to improve the quality of life of these disadvantaged people as follows:

• to increase the literacy rate in dalit & disadvantaged communities;
• to increase knowledge on women's rights, social rights including human rights amongst adolescent girl students;
• helping dalit children develop their talents;
• to keep the health of the villagers' risk free;
• to develop the skills of dalit women in the production of agricultural and household products and to make them income-oriented;
• raise awareness of women's rights among young women, their guardians and leaders;

Brief of activities :

Dalit is implementing the project ‘‘Strengthening Health and Education of children and their families of Sundarban in Bangladesh’’ in Khulna and Satkhira districts. In the coastal area of Bangladesh every year they are facing natural disasters like cyclones, river erosion, water surge, salinity and a safe source of drinking water. Also due to COVID-19 children are facing different problems. Children are at risk of falling behind due to school closures aimed at preventing the spread of Covid-19. Many Dalit children are not receiving proper learning support at home which is the learning gap also their parents have very little formal education. Their parents have no income, and the health of all household members is at risk due to lack of food and nutrition. They do not have knowledge of good hygiene practices. Most of the people lost their livelihood and earning opportunities. The project is working to carry out awareness on health, nutrition, education and child rights for the well-being of the children.
