Mission
Empowering marginalized communities with the required skills and capabilities to make changes that favor pro-poor, inclusive and lasting development and the reduction of the gap between the rich and the poor; working collaboratively towards a better and fairer co-existence.
Objectives
The objective of the project is “To raise awareness, improve attitudes and practices that enhance nutritional outcomes for targeted beneficiaries in selected areas and to support beneficiaries in optimizing nutrition through their livelihood activities”.
Major Activities
- Covered 350 villages in 05 upazilla
- Registered 7734 adolescent girls, 1314 pregnant mothers, 4892 lactating mothers, 6518 children under five years old and 4751 mother in-law.
- Hand washing station installation 29000 Poor & Extreme poor households.
- Seasonal vegetable seed distribution 1400 pregnant & lactating mothers for homesteaded gardening.
- Trained up 1050 Nutrition Support Committee (NSC) members on basic nutrition in 350 villages.
- Organized and conduct 3076 BCC session with 15495 Adolescents and 33561 with pregnant, lactating mothers, under 5 years’ children mothers and mother in-laws.
- Developed IEC materials for BCC awareness on Nutrition (Leaflet, sticker).
- Developed training manual for NSC members.
- Participated monthly coordination meeting at CS office & DC office 06 times.
- Observed day observation World breastfeeding week 2017, 01 time, World health day 2018, 01 time, Hand washing week-01, National Nutrition week 2018, 01 time at district & upazilla level.
