Basic Informations
The Royal commonwealth society for the blind- Sightsavers (England-1950) is an international development organization. Sightsavers works in developing countries to combat avoidable blindness and promote equal opportunities for disabled people. From 1973 Sightsavers is working in Bangladesh. with Government and NGO partners combined effort we dream to eliminate avoidable blindness from Bangladesh.
Sightsavers works in more than 30 countries worldwide, focusing on Africa and Asia. We partner with local, regional, national and international organisations, ministries, governments and non-governmental organisations. With their help, we distribute treatments to prevent disease, carry out operations and eye examinations, advocate for disability rights and strengthen health systems to create sustainable development projects. Our vision is of a world where avoidable blindness has been eliminated, and people with visual impairments and other disabilities have the same opportunities as everyone else. We can only get there thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our supporters, so we aim to be as transparent as possible so you can be sure your money is being used wisely.

Mission
We are an international organisation working with partners in developing countries to eliminate avoidable blindness and to promote equality of opportunity for disabled people
Objectives
Objective-1: Increased demand for men and women to eye health services particularly for cataract in the community.
Objective-2: Increased accessibility to quality comprehensive eye health services specially cataract in the project districts.
Objective-3: Advocacy for Integration with and strengthening of existing health systems to ensure long term sustainability of the impacts of our initiative.
Major Activities
Protecting sight: We prevent sight loss and avoidable blindness in some of the poorest parts of the world by treating conditions such as cataracts and fighting debilitating eye diseases.
Disability rights: We promote equal opportunities for people with disabilities, and we campaign for disability rights so everyone has the chance to receive an education, earn a living and be happy.
Working locally: We work with governments around the world to tackle the problems at the root of avoidable blindness, and we work with local communities to support people who need it most.
