Deep Swastho Shikkha Kalyan Foundation
Basic Informations
Back ground of the organization
Satkhira’s girls and boys, youth, adolescent, dalit, minority people are not in a position to exercise their sexual and reproductive health rights including menstruation hygiene promotion. They lack reliable and timely information and life skills. This does not only cause considerable stress and avoidable violence and health risks, but also is the major cause for the high maternal mortality rates. Girls marry and have children at too early an age and do not practice effective contraception methods. Their parents are silent and act more on taboos than on the need to protect their children’s health. These taboos are fed by far-reaching gender discrimination. Thinking over these, some educated, dynamic and active persons were formed Deep Swastho Shikkha Kalyan Foundation by the inspired of Biswajit Biswas.

Bangladesh and Nepal are the main sources of trafficked children in south Asia. 27,000 Bangladeshi women and children have been forced into prostitution in Indian brothels. More than 200,000 Bangladeshi women were trafficked from 1990 to 1997, with 6,000 children trafficked, abducted or reported missing during that time. Over the last decade, 200,000 Bangladeshi girls were lured under false circumstances and sold into the sex industry in nations including Pakistan, India and the Middle East. A non-government source reports that about 200,000 women and children have been trafficked to the Middle East in the last 20 years. Different human rights activists and agencies estimate 200-400 young women and children are smuggled out every month, most of them from Bangladesh to Pakistan. A women lawyers' association estimates that on an average, 4500 women and children from Bangladesh are being trafficked to Pakistan each year and at least 200,000 women have been trafficked to Pakistan over the last 10 years. More than 15,000 women and children are trafficked out of Bangladesh every year. This is the causing, we have planned to work on Prevention of woman and child trafficking and goat disbursement. From this project, we shall arrange a sharing meeting with the local administration, local elite, religious leader, local government, reporter, NGO workers, teacher, cultivator, house wife, college students and shrimp farmer.
